When is my school's application to become a Michigan Green School due?
All applications are due on March 1, 2021. Submit application no earlier than January 2021.
May our school continue to use the 20 points of environmental activities in the original unrevised Green School Law of 2006?
You will find the activities of the original 20 points will fit nicely into the new application for the revised 2010 Green School Bill.
How many points of green activities do we need to qualify?
Ten points with at least two points from each of the four activity categories are required to gain official Michigan Green School status.
Are there higher awards?
Yes, schools achieving fifteen points in a school year become Emerald School and the highest award for twenty points is the Evergreen Award.
May our school use the official Michigan Green School logo?
Yes all County coordinators and Michigan Green Schools who have obtained official green school status may use the copyrighted logo in their yearbooks, website and other school materials. All other use is prohibited by federal law.
My county does not have a coordinator. Where do I send our application?
